WE Youth Memorial Scholarships
Blake McKune Memorial Scholarship
The Blake McKune Youth Scholarship was established by Blake’s family through Rusty & Jen McKune. The scholarship was created in honor and memory of Blake McKune who passed away unexpectedly in an accident on October 28, 2018. Blake had a passion for life with his contagious smile and endless energy. His free spirit and compassion touched the lives of many and he loved bringing happiness to others. Blake was active in the youth ministry at The Water’s Edge and enjoyed participating in youth mission trips. It is the desire of the McKune Family that through this scholarship, The Water’s Edge youth will have the opportunity to participate in youth camps and mission trips; and, as Blake did, have the opportunity to experience, know, and resemble Christ through service to others.
Gage Nech Memorial Scholarship
The Gage Nech Youth Mission Trip Scholarship was established by Gage’s family through Justin & Brooke Nech. The scholarship was created in honor and memory of Gage Nech who passed away unexpectedly in an accident on December 12, 2021. Gage had a strong work ethic, desire to serve others, and generous heart. His hard work and entrepreneurial ability helped him to grow his own business and help others in the process. Gage was active in the youth ministry at The Water’s Edge and enjoyed participating in youth mission trips. It is the desire of the Nech Family that through this scholarship, The Water’s Edge youth will have the opportunity to participate in youth mission trips; and, as Gage did, have the opportunity to experience, know, and resemble Christ through service to others.
Evan Welsh Memorial Scholarship
The Evan Welsh Youth Mission Trip Scholarship was established by Evan’s family through Rod & Thyra Welsh. The scholarship was created in honor and memory of Evan Welsh who passed away unexpectedly in an accident on August 2, 2018. Evan was full of life, determination, energy and grit. His character and faith touched the lives of many. Evan was active in the youth ministry at The Water’s Edge as both a student and volunteer, and participated in numerous mission trips. It is the desire of the Welsh family, that through this scholarship, The Water’s Edge youth will have the opportunity to participate in youth mission trips; and, as Evan did, continue to experience, know, and resemble Christ through service to others.
