About Life Groups

Life Groups are small groups of people that meet weekly in homes throughout the greater Omaha area. Through joining a Life Group, WE believe you’ll build a community. A community of people who will….

  • support and encourage you
  • pray for you
  • help you know Jesus better

In Life Groups, we are able to step outside our Sunday morning rows and create circles. Circles of individuals committed to developing authentic community. Life Groups are a place where you can…

  • come as you are and explore who you want to become
  • learn who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him
  • discover friends who will do life with you

We know that when we gather together with other people to learn and talk about faith, God shows up and changes lives.

When and where do Life Groups meet?

Life Groups typically meet in homes and consist of gatherings of around 7-14 people. Life Group leaders and/or members typically agree on a day, time, and location that works for the whole group. WE Omaha Life Groups meet in homes all over the greater Omaha area.

What happens during a Life Group gathering?

Life Group gatherings may differ depending on the group. Each group “personalizes” their meeting time together to fit their groups’ schedules and needs. That said, a basic Life Group gathering includes time for fellowship, study, discussion and prayer. occasional service project. Additionally, Life Groups may schedule additional gatherings for fun outings or service projects.

Why should I join a Life Group?

WE believe on the best ways to find community and grow your faith is through Life Groups. Life Groups allow us to get out of our “rows” and create circles. Circles of community. Circles of support. Circles of growth. Circles of faith. Whether you’re a new believer or a long-time Christ-follower, Life Groups can help shape your faith and WE encourage you to try one out!

See what our life group members have said…

“My women’s small group has been very valuable to me. It is a comfortable environment to learn, grow in my faith and develop close relationships with others. I utilize what I learn from my group many times in my daily life.”

– Rhonda Hodges

“Our small group is a place we can be ourselves, and say anything. It’s where we grow in our Faith and can be open and honest about where we are on that journey. It’s where our Faith turned from a “Sunday-morning-when-we-had-time-thing”, into more of a lifestyle.”

– Matt & Catherine Bosley

“For our family, being in a small group has been the defining experience in making our home at The Water’s Edge. It has helped us to get more engaged in serving at The Water’s Edge, helped us to stay on top of activities and projects the church is working on, and encouraged us to step out of our comfort zone to be involved. We are truly blessed to know these families. They are what fellowship is all about.”

– Ron & Cathy Price

“It doesn’t take any kind of a profound understanding to belong to a small group. There’s no pressure to find all the right answers. Often, just asking the right questions is enough. Or don’t ask. Just think. That’s fine, too. At its best, the group strengthens bonds in every direction. We feel closer to our friends and family, to the church and its members with encouragement from the lessons of the group. The small-group experience has set us free to explore our faith. It’s helped give us that foundation to build our spiritual future.”

– Mitch & Shannon Sherman
