Many of you have asked how you can help our medical community. Currently, the need for face masks is still great. If you have the ability to sew, WE encourage you to sign up to be a part of our “Serving By Sewing” team. By using your gifts and talents, WE can provide our medical professionals with these masks to help keep everyone safe. If needed, The Water’s Edge can provide you with the supplies needed to create the masks. See the information below for instructions on how to sew the masks.

When you have masks ready for pick-up, you can drop them off at the church, call the church to set up a pick-up, or email Leandra at Leandra@weomaha.com. We are working with area nurses on getting these masks to the right places for distribution in the hospitals. They will be washed at the hospital before use.

Face Mask Information

There are two styles of masks you could make.

Basic Face Mask

Face Mask with Filter Pocket

Materials: Cotton is preferred. The thicker the better. Most stores are sold out of elastic due to people making these types of masks. Using fabric straps that can be tied behind the ears works just fine as well.  The Filter Pocket mask shows inserting a “Non-Woven Layer.” You would not be responsible for inserting this part into the pocket.
