About WE Youth
Middle School and High School isn’t easy. Life moves fast and everything changes during these years. As adolescents make the transition from children to young adults, they need people in their lives to help navigate the changes, challenges, struggles and questions they’ll face.
The youth ministry at The Water’s Edge (WE Youth) is a place where middle school and high school students can find a place to belong. Our staff and volunteers are caring adults who are passionate about helping connect youth to God and others, engaging them with fun activities and through Christlike relationships, and growing in faith through meaningful messages and conversations relevant to their lives.
WEYouth is for all students currently in 6th-12thgrades. If you have any questions, or would like some information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Middle School Youth
Our Middle School youth meet at The Water’s Edge on Wednesdays from 6:56-8:08pm during the school year. On these nights, Middle Schoolers gather to connect with friends, build new relationships, and engage in conversations that help them further develop their grasp of God’s word and its relevance in their lives.
High School LIFEgroups
Our High School youth meet at The Water’s Edge on Wednesday evenings from 6:56-8:08pm during the school year. Each week we gather for a time of connecting with and caring for one another, engaging in learning and conversation, and discovering how God’s word applies to our lives and relationships.
More About LIFEgroups
WE believe students grow best when given the opportunity to engage one another in conversation and ask questions in a safe and caring environment. Our youth LIFEgroups are made up of students in the same grade and gender and are each led by 2-3 adult mentors who choose to invest in and walk beside our students as they navigate their middle school and high school years. Each of our adult leaders has completed our Safe Gatherings volunteer training and gets weekly updates and guides for leading their groups.

Retreats & Camps
Some of the biggest highlights of every year happen on our camps & retreats. Youth travel to a camp or retreat center for a week or weekend designed to help them connect with others, get away from their everyday life, and spend time experiencing and learning about how much God loves them and what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
Middle School Spring Retreat
Middle School Summer Camp
A week of Summer Camp is like nothing else. A chance to get away, connect with friends, explore your faith, have fun, and learn more about Jesus. It all happens in a place you’ll never forget that is designed with you in mind. Get ready for one of the greatest weeks of your life. High School Mission Trip
Every Summer, High School students from The Water’s Edge give up a week of their time to travel outside of the Omaha area and serve others. Typically, these trips involve travel time and youth group bonding, serving others through home repair projects, and a daily program and theme with worship, messages, and devotion times with our work crews and youth group.
Our 2021 High School Mission Trip will be July 10 – 18th to Alexandria, MN. The trip is open to students who will complete 8th grade or higher during the 2020-2021 school year. Registration will open in October 2020.

In 2021, Middle School students from The Water’s Edge will travel to another city to serve others through their local service and community outreach organizations. What Is Confirmation?
Confirmation refers to the decision a person makes to respond to God’s grace with intentional commitment, publicly reaffirming his or her baptismal vows before the congregation. It involves a series of gatherings and time of preparation to help students learn and understand what it means to walk in their Christian faith; the history and teachings of The United Methodist Church; and affirm the baptismal and membership vows they will publicly profess.

WE believe House Churches provide one of the most vital parts of faith development – community. All adults are encouraged to experience the unique fellowship experience that comes with joining a House Church. Find a group that fits your life, schedule, and goals.
