What to Expect for Worship at The Water’s Edge

When are church services held?

We offer services beginning at 9:00 am and 10:30 am on Sunday mornings. We are located at 19600 Harrison Street in West Omaha. Members, guests, and visitors gather for coffee and donuts before each service. Worship is held in the sanctuary for about sixty minutes.

What is it like attending church at The Water's Edge?

Our worship is fun, relevant, inspiring, and challenging. Our worship leader is a blues singer. Our pastor has a doctorate in theology and wrote his dissertation on the use of humor in public speaking. We use as many creative elements as possible to communicate God’s heart to all of us.

What should I do when I arrive?

As you walk into the front doors, you will be warmly welcomed, but not smothered or interrogated. You are invited to enjoy breakfast. Nothing fancy. Just bagels, donuts, juice, and coffee to your left. We have plenty of tables, including one for you. Feel free to come a little early.

E

What happens during a typical worship service?

Each service begins with a couple songs played by our band. You are welcomed to sing along or just enjoy the music. Then important announcements are made followed by the weekly sermon. The message lasts around 30 minutes.

E

What should I wear? Do I have to dress up?

If you are wondering what to wear, we suggest clothes. Jokes aside, most attendees dress casually; jeans, shorts, sweaters, and shirts seem to be the most common articles of clothing worn depending on the season.

Are kids welcome at The Water's Edge?

Yes, absolutely! WE Kids offers classes during both our 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM worship services. Visit the WE Kids Check In table to register your kids and have one of our WE Kids Greeters answer any questions you may have.
